Logo FOLAXAN® is food supplement which helps support the treatment of cancer

How it works

The active ingredients in FOLAXAN® effectively prevent growth of cancer cells, metastasis and cell mutations. They exhibit cytostatic effect on cancer cells and have no negative impact on healthy cells. FOLAXAN® is highly effective against all types of cancer and it decisively helps in the fight against this disease.

The active ingredients in the FOLAXAN® product inhibit the emergence and growth of cancer cells and prevent the process of carcinogenesis. The therapy has very good clinical results in all types of cancer, without the presence of side effects. The therapy is based on the selective induction of apoptosis in cancer cells. Apoptosis is one of the main types of programmed cell death and a highly organized physiological mechanism that aims to destroy damaged or abnormal cells. Self-destructive program is activated for example in cells affected by viruses with the aim to stop the virus from reproducing or in case of damaged DNA. In cancer cells, the mechanism of self-destruction (apoptosis) is damaged, which leads to uncontrolled division of cells, so this makes the cells "immortal." The Induction (challenge) of apoptosis (the ability of cells to die in the event that they are too old or damaged) in cancer cells, it is considered crucial for therapy, treatment and prophylaxis of cancer. Besides physiological factors, which contribute to induction (challenge) of apoptosis, there are also external factors. Many natural substances are considered as factors which are able to induce (trigger) apoptosis in various cancer cells of the human body. Many of these natural substances found in various medicinal plants, herbs, fruits and vegetables.

Why do we need apoptotic inducers(triggers apoptosis)?

For conventional and accepted methods for treating cancer are considered surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and various medications, both individually and in various combinations with one another. Chemotherapy often leads to alleviation of the condition, prolonging life and may even cure. The successful anti-cancer drug, however, must destroy only the cancer cells without causing damage to normal cells. This ideal state could be achieved only through induction (triggering) of apoptosis in tumor cells. The lifespan of normal and cancer cells is significantly influenced by the level of apoptosis, and therefore induction of apoptosis appears to be an important factor in the treatment and prevention of cancers. Synthesis of drugs that induce apoptosis is an important aspect of research in the fight against cancer. Despite the enormous amount of work on the synthesis of such drugs, effective working prototypes of such drugs have not been established yet. The demand for such drugs has shown that natural products are more effective inducers of apoptosis.

Recent studies of tumor inhibitory compounds of plant origin have led to the discovery of an impressive number of new structures. It is known that some plant products successfully induce apoptosis in tumor cells (causing their natural death), but do not affect processes in normal cells. Increasingly, it becomes more evident that apoptosis is the principal mode of action of many anti-cancer agents, including ionizing radiation, alkalizing agents such as cisplatin and 1,3- bis (-chlorethyl) -1- nitrosourea (BCNU), a topoisomerase etoposide inhibitor, a cytokine tumor necrosis factor (TNF), taxol, and N - Substitol benzamides such as metoclopramide and 3- chloroprocainamide. Apoptosis induction is the purpose of innovative methods in the development of anticancer drugs.

It is therefore important to test plant inducers of apoptosis in the form of crude extract or as a part of their individual components. From various studies appear evidence to show that products derived from plants are useful for the treatment and prevention of cancers. Chemoprophylatic compounds have different mechanisms of action, but their ability to induce apoptosis is a unifying concept in mechanism for fight against cancer. Understanding the mechanism of action of these compounds provide useful information on their use in the prevention and treatment of cancer.

FOLAXAN® product is essentially an effective plant inducer of apoptosis in tumor cells (restores the ability of cancer cells to die naturally) restores the suppressed function of apoptosis and cancer cells actually "commit suicide" by giving a command of the cell to self-destruct in other words, it starts the process of apoptosis, the cell dies. When this process begins, the cell breaks down and in about one hour is absorbed from the neighboring cells. There is no trace of it, as if it never existed (as opposed to the process of cell necrosis, during cell death toxic substances are released). The important thing is that tumors rapidly decrease due to the death of defective cells and eventually disappear completely, while healthy cells remain unaffected.

The active ingredients in FOLAXAN® suppress the formation and growth of cancer cells and prevent the process of carcinogenesis. The effect of growth inhibition and destruction of tumor cells is achieved by modulation of genes, encoding the cell cycle, metastasis, angiogenesis and apoptosis.

The active ingredients in the FOLAXAN® product suppress the activation of NF-kB (a group of transcription factors that bind to promoters RNA polymerase II and influence the expression of genes that are important for cell growth and cell death, fetal development, as well as other important processes, including tumor cell growth and metastasis) and the Akt signal pathways (a key protein in the regulation of glucose metabolism by mTOR and p70 S6K, regulates cell growth and quality of the cell cycle), and also optimize the activity of COX (cyclooxygenase – an enzyme ensuring the conversion of arachidonic acid into prostaglandins and thromboxanes), ribonucleotide reductase (a key enzyme of DNA synthesis, which catalyzes the conversion of ribonucleotides to deoxyribonucleotides) and GSH (glutathione - a tripeptide consisting of the amino acids, glutamic acid, cysteine and glycine involved in the synthesis and formation of nucleic acids in the body, the formation of proteins, prostaglandins, transport of amino acids, removal of toxins and carcinogens).

Furthermore, the active ingredients in the FOLAXAN® product activate the ATM kinase of signal pathways, thus effectively preventing the processes of carcinogenesis. The described mode of action of FOLAXAN® (and effective trigger of activation of the process of apoptosis in cancer cells - programmed self-destruction of cancer cells), makes it clear that it acts on most types of tumors and is an effective tool in the fight against cancer and its various forms, including their metastasis.
